About Us

Established in 2012, Bek & Frohnert LLC was the first conservation studio in the United States to specialize in the preservation of time-based media art, kinetic and light-based art.

The international museum and research backgrounds of Reinhard Bek  and Christine Frohnert offer 50 years of combined experience in painting, sculpture, modern materials, kinetic and media art conservation.

Analysis and research underscore our holistic approach to preservation. In-depth knowledge of artist’s concepts, methods and materials inform documentation and treatments to extend the historic value of the artwork and collections in our care.

Our studio adheres to the AIC Code of Ethics and is affiliated with international professional conservation organizations such as AIC, ICOM and IIC.
